Happy Chinese New Year!! February 22, 2015

It's been a CRAZY past few days!!! This week when we were doing some studies, randomly chinese drums started playing so we all ran to the roof to see what was going on! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Haha everyone here celebrates BIG TIME. At church yesterday, we got $650HK from Red Pockets. or Lai Sze. it's too funny--during this holiday, everyone just gives money away and eats with family and friends.

Last Pday we went to a chinese fair. it was way cool and way packed. many traditional things like cool flowers and fruits I've never seen before! haapy year of the lamb! :)

this week we had deep cleaning day. it's the chinese tradition! we literally deep cleaned all day. and i was in the kitchen for 5 hours! haha it was really fun though actually.  there's literally been no one on the streets the past 4 days because of the new year.

I've been reading a lot about one of the greatest gifts God has given us: mercy. what is it exactly? I used to think it was just giving someone a second chance when they don't deserve it. I guess in a way, it is, since we are all imperfect and God always, always gives us second chances. But it is so much more! God gives us mercy through many ways like answering our prayers. Blessing us through the Priesthood authority. and giving us the guidance of the Holy Ghost. the more we receive His mercy, the more humble we become. the more we develop Christlike attributes like forgiveness, meekness, and love for others. Most Chinese do not see a need for Christ. It breaks my heart at times, but it has strengthened my testimony of the Savior even more. I have the biggest need for a Savior more than anyone. He helps me and supports me in every aspect of my life. It's been an incredible adventure, because I have been through moments of just relying on myself, and then I've felt the huge difference of relying on the Lord. He loves us so much!
Never forget the gift of mercy He has given us :)
Happy Chinese New Year!

on our way to our area and ran into a dancing dragon and drums!

cleaning day!

and would you rather die than eat this? me too! :)

Happy Valentine's Day! February 15, 2015

Happy Valentine's Day!! :) :) :) ours was awesome. haha we had an ALLLLL day finding day-- whoop whoop! it was actually awesome though, we found a less active who no one knows about! and she let us in her home, was SO nice, and now we are in contact with her. she's actually mandarin, but what a miracle!

Hong Kong is SO busy right now. it's kind of like 2 days before Christmas and black friday all in one day, but every. single. day. Chinese New Year is the biggest thing ever!

Well do you all remember Cinny? She was supposed to get baptizd in January, but her mom flipped out and then she couldn't keep in contact with us. Well our member came 15 minutes earlier to our lesson with a different investigator last week, so we were about to just go up to the church with her and sit and chat. but as we were about to go up the elevator, we gave the member the keys and decided to go finding for just 10 minutes. in that 10 minutes, we ran into CINNY! we all ran to each other, SO happy to see each other. and guess what she told us--her mom has been changing recently! they talk about church now! so we scheduled her and saw her yesterday at our YW president's home. oh man, it was the best ever. she's coming to an activity this week, and she even said we can go visit her during a tyuhn baai activity (some chinese new year thing--we give everyone lihn gou, which is new year cake). so her mom is about to meet all the young woman-- OH YEAH! we are so grateful we went finding for just 10 minutes.

we also randomly ran into Gordon, Gloria's cousin and he invited us over since Gloria had just gotten home. we have her scheduled tonight. she's been extremely busy, but she's been keeping up her reading in the book of mormon :) we are giving her a new baptismal date tonight--pray for her!

Maggie is having a hard time understanding her need for baptism. She's been Catholic for 50 years, and she's with all her siblings right now (she has 14!) to celebrate the new year for the next 2 weeks. she knows the book of mormon is true though and is continuously reading it! but she still won't come to church! ai-ya. pray for her too. she always appologizes for being so stubborn, haha she's so great.

About Yuki... she finally told her mom :(. she can't come to church anymore. but it's okay! My favorite thing about Sister Richardson is her faith in God and miracles. she NEVER gives up on people. we never gave up on Cinny, and she's back! we will not give up on Yuki! she loves the gospel and her mom will turn around for sure!

there's no one i love more than our investigators. it truly is our honor to be able to help them find confidence, faith, comfort, power, and hope in Jesus Christ.

I LOOOOVEEEEDDD THE PACKAGE SO MUCH! you are the BEST. thanks for making our valentine's day so fun! here's our apt. those red dangly things are paau jeungs. some members made them for us! :)

i love you!

Hi Fam!! LOVE YOU!!! February 8th, 2015

Hi Fam!! LOVE YOU!!!

It's been an awesome week. We volunteered at a mental hospital (having NO idea where we were going or doing because it was all in chinese and I don't know that vocabulary!) so we just had the faith it would be awesome--and it WAS. we went back a few days later with Aberdeen ward and Maggie Wong! We made Chinese New Year "paau jeung" and wrote new year sayings.

we are assigned 4 patients, one who really wants to learn how to play piano! so they were so excited when they heard i play piano and this patient can finally learn how! :)

While we were there in the hospital saying hi to all the patients, I pictured so clearly in my mind the Savior healing all those with sicknesses and disabilities. it was one of the happiest moments i've felt yet. I love wearing the name of our Savior on my chest and truly serving the Lord's children. love it :)

Us and Maggie Wong and a patient, making the chinese firecrackers. this woman was so smart!

I learned a lot this week about the power of consistency. it's easy for someone to be obedient when life is easy, but in the moments of crisis, it's TOUGH. that's when you're willing to risk anything and forget your values, forget your "Mark", forget the Savior. But during those moments of crisis, when you remember your Mark, and are consistent, miracles happen. You have a change of heart and lamfaat. (direction of idea and thinking?)

Love this work :) Love my companion Sister Richardson! and guess who my new STL comp is... SISTER TUAVAO!!! My tonga sister! yes. hey, if anyone wants to send her anything, please do :) her address is the same as mine. love you all!

Love, Sister Bosler

What a WEEK again! February 1, 2015

Hi! :)

What a WEEK again! :) haha it's been so great!

I've been learning so much about how to follow the Spirit and we've been having the greatest experiences. You don't just say, "okay Heavenly Father! Im gonna follow the spirit today so give me some miracles!" it definitely does not work that way as we know. We are able to follow the promptings of the spirit according to our diligence.

On tuesday, we had rescheduled a Filipino at her employer's home in PFL Village. We were waiting to take the bus, and naturally, talked to as many people as we could (diligence. consistency.). Because we were talking, we missed our bus 3 times to get to PFL Village. After we got to PFL Village, while we were walking to her home, I had the thought in my mind, "wow, I really must talk to every person I see." i thought of how PMG reminds us to not get caught up in rushing to apts, but to remember to always find. We always try to, but this time, it really was clear to me. And then we met Maggie Wong. she is 73!!!! BUT HAS SO MUCH ENERGY! oh my gosh she is my favorite person in the world. i love her so much. she could probably run a Marathon 3 times in the time I could. we talk every night on the phone after planning for literally 30 minutes because she has so many questions about The Book of Mormon. she is so funny, so loving, and truly wants to follow God. (It's been so awesome teaching someone who already has a relationship with God!) She met us, and instantly knew this was God's arrangement. She has grown up as a Catholic but she was so excited that at this point in her life, she met us. We shared with her the Restoration, and as we were reciting the First vision, she literally gasped after every sentence she was so excited. haha. her english is also pretty good, she speaks fluent Chinglish. Since she grew up reading an English Bible, she insisted on an English BoM. So we got her one, and she loves it. she loves talking to us about it! I honestly love her more than anyone i've met yet on the mission. haha there are no words to describe the personality and love of Maggie Wong!

Anyway, she has a hard time thinking he needs to be 're-baptized'. but every question she asks, we turn to the Book of Mormon. we invited her to fast with us on sunday about baptism, and she did. she was SO excited to, too.
But it's incredible, because at first she rejected the Book of Mormon, and just last night, she called us asking for one in Chinese, too :) WE LOVE HER SO MUCH. oh, and every time she sees us, she brings a HUGE bag of our favorite foods. what's better than that? ;)

about Gloria: we have to push back her baptismal date :( she COULD get baptized, but we aren't feeling the most important requirement from DC 20:37-- humility. the true, deep desire to follow God forever. but it's okay! The Book of Mormon answers all problems and helps all people no matter what circumstance they are in! :)

The YW leader in our ward, Sister Leung Ka Li is the best example to me. She has taken in Yuki and has been treating her like her own daughter. We honestly feel like because of Sister Leung, Yuki will get baptized. Ever since Yuki started taking the lessons a month ago and coming to YW and church, we have seen her self confidence grow so much! She is so much happier! I love how the gospel changes people. Heavenly Father's love and power is SO real! But once again, this week has helped me remember how the gospel all has to do with the love of Christ. You start to get really exhausted when you literally don't even have time to pluck your eyebrows (you can leave that out of the mass email thanks haha), but then it all is SO worth it when you forget yourself and help others. diligence. love it.

I love you all! thanks for your love and prayers!

Ty, you're almost 14!!!!! Nan, you're almost 20!!! Dad, you're so young and healthy and in shape! everyone that looks at your pic says how young you and mom look :) Stella is soo beautiful! :) i love my family. :)

NOTE TO MOM: haha i can't believe you were up that late either! I GOT THE CROCS AND WEARING THEM NOW THANK YOU!
haha seriously, it was super annoying not having shoes that fit, so thank you :) you are the greatest. every day i drink powder in some juice and water. can you please keep sending me powders? I love the wheatgrass one so much! you are the most supportive mom ever! Love you so much!
and LOVE the robe. I've been sleeping with in on every night and it's like another blanket! you are so thoughtful! laughed so hard at our family pictures!!  my companion is IMPRESSED with your photo shopping skills. love you!
